The Tenafly Business Improvement District Management Corporation is dedicated to promoting Tenafly as a preferred shopping, eating, and residential destination, with a stable commercial district. The Business Improvement District is committed to adapting an inclusive approach toward strengthening not only the downtown, but also the aforementioned areas in the entire community. This includes improving Tenafly’s economic viability by supporting existing businesses and encouraging the establishment of new enterprises and cultural activities that complement existing businesses and services in different sections throughout the town.

Proposed Amendments to Schedule A (Land Development Regulations) and Schedule C- Parking Schedule
We are pleased to hear that the Mayor and Council are considering a proposal to strengthen and update the expansion of permitted business uses and parking regulations within our town.
The BID is asking for you to review the process for accepted uses in the business district. We recommend that if the use of a new business is permissible, the Building Department Director/Zoning Officer review the plans and decide if there is a need to go to the Planning Board for approval. This small change to the process would provide an opportunity for a site plan waiver granted to the applicant by the Building Department Officer/Zoning Officer. Tenafly pushing to be more business friendly
TENAFLY — Borough officials are trying to strip away some of the zoning rules that council members feel prevent incoming businesses from setting up shop in the borough.
The mayor and council is considering revising zoning regulations to make it easier for businesses after the Planning Board advised making changes to update and amend zoning ordinances. Members of the council discussed these recommendations at the Feb. 26 meeting, with the amended ordinance expected to be introduced March 12, followed by a public hearing on April 30.

Tenafly BID Announces 2013 Board of Directors
A new Board of Directors has been named for 2013 for the Tenafly Business Improvement District (BID). Robin Brown, Carol Geisenheimer, Beth Kreitman, Jarret Quirk and James Elias were elected to the board. Bob Kutik and Scott Porter were nominated by the board. Khalid Mansoor and Stephanie Sauer Pasternak were appointed by Tenafly’s Mayor and Council. Councilwoman Nadia LaMastra was reappointed as Council Liaison. Kutik was named President, Brown as Vice President, Kreitman as Secretary and Geisenheimer as Treasurer. Read more...
